Volunteer Intern – Environmental Justice Australia

Environmental Justice Australia (formerly the Environment Defenders Office) is offering internships for November 2015 – February 2016 to law students with a genuine and demonstrable interest in environmental issues, social justice issues and environmental law.

Seasonal clerkship programs generally available only to penultimate or final year law students and are used by firms to assess potential trainees. Clerks will typically be placed within one practice area of the firm and given a wide range of tasks, so that the firm may assess their competency and approach towards work. Firms also place great importance upon whether or not the clerk is a good cultural fit. This refers to your attitude, personality and work ethic and whether these match the characteristics the firm desires.

The Aurora Internship Program

The Aurora Internship Program places law, anthropology and other social science (archaeology, cultural heritage, environmental management,  human geography, history and sociology) students and graduates from Australian universities at Native Title Representative Bodies (NTRBs), Prescribed Bodies Corporate (PBCs) and other organisations involved in policy development, social justice, human rights, all with an Indigenous focus.
