Clerkship & Traineeship Handbook

Check out Todd Bromwich’s Handbook giving you the ins and outs of Seasonal Clerkship applications!!

Seasonal clerkship programs generally available only to penultimate or final year law students and are used by firms to assess potential trainees. Clerks will typically be placed within one practice area of the firm and given a wide range of tasks, so that the firm may assess their competency and approach towards work. Firms also place great importance upon whether or not the clerk is a good cultural fit. This refers to your attitude, personality and work ethic and whether these match the characteristics the firm desires.

Want to study law overseas?

Planning on studying overseas?
Haven’t yet thought about studying overseas?
Need some #travelinspo in the midst of exam cram?

If any of these apply to you come to the Deakin Abroad Returned Students’ Session!

As Deakin law students, we are a pretty lucky bunch in that there’s over a hundred universities around the world that we can spend a semester or two studying abroad at.

This is your chance to speak with returned students about their experiences studying overseas and find out how you can organise your own trip of a lifetime (and get law credits for it!) The session will feature returned Deakin law students who can give you all the info you need on how to make your law degree work with a semester overseas.

Deakin Waterfront, Tuesday June 2 – 1:00pm in D3.211. Any questions about this event can be sent to Declan Higgins at djhiggin@deakin.edu.au, or click here to visit the event on Facebook.
