The Victorian Bar is once again looking for student volunteers to participate in a Jury Skills Workshop. This is a wonderful opportunity to see inside excellent advocacy and the dynamics of juries. No prior work experience is required!

What is the position?

This is a volunteer opportunity for the Jury Trial Advocacy Workshop being run by the Victorian Bar. The workshop will run for one day – Saturday 14 November, 9am-5pm.

Will I get paid?

This is an unpaid placement, however, participation is credit bearing. Lunch is provided.

Other details?

This is a specialist workshop for barristers who undertake jury trials. The workshop provides barristers with a unique opportunity to improve their jury advocacy skills and hear from the ‘jurors’ themselves. The barristers attending this course are receiving credits toward an Indictable Crime Certificate.

As a juror volunteer, you will have an opportunity to experience jury trial advocacy and observe expert feedback to barristers from notable advocacy coaches.

This is an excellent opportunity for any Law student, and will be particularly engaging for students interested in criminal law.
